Make Your Own Fall Wreath to Hang on Your Apartment Door

Just because we enjoy warm weather most of the year here in Florida doesn’t mean we have to miss out on fall festivities. Making a fall wreath to hang on your apartment door is a great way to get in the autumn spirit even though the temperature isn’t exactly dropping. Check out this do-it-yourself guide for some ideas to make your own wreath.

Start by deciding on a color scheme. For a fall-theme we suggest using reds, yellows, oranges, browns, or golds, but you can choose any colors you like. Once you’ve decided on some colors, head to your local craft store and pick up a few things. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A wire, foam, or metal wreath frame
  • A base, which can be faux twigs, fabric, or even twine.
  • A few decorative accents such as fake fall leaves or flowers, ribbon, and fake, miniature pumpkins or gourds.
  • Craft glue or a sewing needle and thread

Once you have your supplies, you can get started. Take your frame and cover it with whatever base material you chose. Depending on the frame and base you’ve chosen, you can either glue or sew your base on. If you use craft glue, let it dry and then arrange your decorations around the wreath. Once you like the way it looks, attach them to the base again using either craft glue or by sewing them on. Let everything dry and then hang your master piece above your door and enjoy!
